Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

About the Committee

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Kartik Oraon College, Belangi, Ratu, Ranchi is constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

The Committee is committed to providing a safe, secure, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environment for all students, faculty members, and staff of the institution.

The College maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and is dedicated to ensuring dignity, equality, and respect within the campus community.

Objectives

  • To prevent sexual harassment at the workplace and educational institution.
  • To create awareness regarding gender sensitization and women's rights.
  • To ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and employees.
  • To provide a fair, confidential, and time-bound grievance redressal mechanism.
  • To promote mutual respect and dignity among all members of the institution.

Functions of the Committee

  • Receiving complaints related to sexual harassment.
  • Conducting impartial inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Recommending appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Organizing awareness programmes and workshops on gender sensitization.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory provisions and institutional policies.

Procedure for Filing Complaints

A complaint may be submitted in writing to the Internal Complaints Committee within the prescribed period under the applicable rules.

The Committee shall ensure confidentiality, fairness, and timely disposal of all complaints.

Anti-Ragging Cell

About the Cell

Kartik Oraon College strictly prohibits ragging in any form within and outside the campus.

The Anti-Ragging Cell has been constituted in compliance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure a ragging-free educational environment.

The College adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to safeguarding the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of every student.

Objectives

  • To eliminate ragging in all its forms.
  • To create awareness among students regarding the harmful consequences of ragging.
  • To provide a safe and welcoming environment for newly admitted students.
  • To encourage cordial and respectful relationships among students.
  • To take prompt and appropriate action against incidents of ragging.

Functions of the Anti-Ragging Cell

  • Conduct awareness programmes at the beginning of every academic session.
  • Monitor student activities to prevent ragging.
  • Receive and address complaints related to ragging.
  • Conduct inquiries into reported incidents.
  • Recommend disciplinary action against offenders in accordance with UGC regulations and institutional policies.
  • Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and inclusivity on campus.

Anti-Ragging Policy

The College strictly adheres to the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.

Any student found guilty of ragging shall be liable for disciplinary action, which may include:

  • Suspension from classes.
  • Debarment from examinations.
  • Withholding of scholarships or other benefits.
  • Expulsion from the College.
  • Filing of complaints with the appropriate legal authorities, wherever necessary.

Measures Adopted by the College

  • Orientation programmes for newly admitted students.
  • Display of Anti-Ragging notices at prominent places.
  • Regular interaction between faculty members and students.
  • Formation of Anti-Ragging Committees and Squads.
  • Counselling and mentoring support for students.

Procedure for Reporting Ragging

Students may report incidents of ragging directly to the Principal, members of the Anti-Ragging.
